Hi, My name is Joe and my wife is Tena. Tena is my best friend on earth. She is a wonderful and loving wife and also let me put up a KLM model KT-34A, 4 element tri-band antenna on a 60' crank up tower. My base radio is a Kenwood TS-940. This combination works very well for me and I have been blessed with many contacts with this set-up (both DX & local) and have never needed to turn on my Henry 2KW amplifier. For mobile use I have an ICOM 706 radio, with an SG-303 Whip and SG-230 antenna coupler which has provided QSO's to Argentina & South Africa.
My mom is a HAM also, N3SA! She lives in Pennsylvania. I've included a picture of me (center), my wonderful and loving wife Tena (right), and my mom N3SA on the left. Mom outclasses me, I am an Advanced, She's an Extra Class. That's only fair since she's Extra classy and the best mom in the world!
To the right of our picture is the newest member of our family "Simon of Cyrene". He is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, but more like our son! (An 85 lb. 2 1/2 year old at that) If you bring a tennis ball to him, you have made a friend for life.
I enjoy
offroading in my 1946 Willys Jeep. I call him Willy. (Go to http://www.rockcrawler.com/readersrides/ViewMemberPage.idc?MembID=388
to see it. I've done a LOT to it since this picture was taken). I also
have a 1937 Buick Century that I like to drive. In addition I also like
target shooting (pistol, rifle and shotgun). I also enjoy bible studies
at our church, and at home fellowships.
We have
a HAM Radio business called THE HAM CONTACT. In addition to Amateur Radio
equipment, we sell Batteries, Inverters and Solar Panels. We advertise
